NATURE OF POSITION: 30 Hours/Week. Non-Exempt, $15/hour

 

STARTS June 6, 2022

ENDS July 29, 2022* There is a chance to continue beyond this date.

 

SUMMARY: The Lebanon Valley Chamber Intern is responsible for effectively providing assistance and support to, and works collaboratively with, the Chamber President & CEO and other members of the Chamber staff in a variety of ways.  He/she is responsible for a broad range of administrative, clerical, organizational and professional duties required to ensure the Chamber’s ability to achieve its mission and objectives on behalf of its members, the community and the organization itself.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The LV Chamber Intern is responsible for the following specific functions and duties by supporting Chamber President and other members of the Chamber Staff in their collective focus. This could include but is not limited to:  

 

  • Assists, as needed, in the support and execution of Chamber events including registration and on-site support.
  • Assists with responding to businesses and other employers inquiring about membership.
  • Actively seeks membership prospects and cultivates an ongoing relationship and engagement.
  • Creates a comprehensive database of prospective members.
  • Assists in updating database of current members.
  • Assists with marketing and communications.
  • Performs various other assignments as assigned by the President & CEO .
  • While assigned to specific responsibilities, assists other members of staff whenever the need arise
Requirements

The Lebanon Valley Chamber Intern must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good decision-making skills and excellent interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.

 

He/she must have strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel and must have a demonstrated knowledge of both the web and social media. Basic marketing skills and familiarity with database management are preferred.

 

He/she must be able to portray a professional image within the organization and with the public through his/her conduct, attitude and dress.

 

He/she must be a self-starter and must be able to work well in and contribute to a team environment.

 

He/she should be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a College or University.

 

To successfully perform the responsibilities of this position, the Lebanon Valley Intern must possess a valid driver’s license, must be available for occasional early morning and evening programs and events, must be able to work under regular, moderate levels of stress and must be able to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
