Community Homes of Lebanon County Schedules Milestone Groundbreaking Event

After almost five years of planning and fundraising, Community Homes of Lebanon Valley will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the much anticipated Canal Street Affordable Housing Project on Wednesday, January 25 at 10:30 AM. The event will take place at the intersection of North 7th Avenue and Canal Streets, in North Lebanon, Pa.

This ceremony signals the commencement of construction of the first eight of planned twenty-three handicap accessible one- and two-bedroom housing units. “This is Community Homes newest affordable housing development, and is a departure from our standard fare”, says Community Homes CEO Charlie Rush, “attendees and the public will see firsthand why we are excited to be developing affordable new housing in Lebanon County”. Expected attendees include Community Homes Board Members and staff, local officials, companies involved in the project, as well as representatives from the local media. “Special thanks to Jonestown JBT Bank President and CEO Troy Peters. Troy not only arranged for a significant contribution from JBT, He also rallied his peers in the Community Bank industry to make contributions of their own”.

Speakers at the event include Lebanon County Commissioners Chairman Robert Phillips, President/CEO of Jonestown Bank & Trust Troy Peters, Community Homes Chairman/President Glenn Wenger, North Lebanon Township Trustee (TBD) and Senior Director/Community Investment of the Federal Home Loan Bank - Pittsburgh, John Bendel.

A light luncheon/reception at the North Lebanon Township offices, 725 Kimmlings Road, Lebanon, will follow the ceremony.
