Learn about the importance of cacao through the ages.

Our reliance on and relationship with plants spans thousands of years. Science can finally help us see how powerful they are when it comes to our wellness, well-being, and survival.

Plants are most widely known for their nourishing properties and relation to health. They play an essential role in our diets, have also been used medicinally throughout history, and even today, many pharmaceuticals are based on plant compounds. But that’s not all! Plants also play a dominant role in our mental health, and one of the most powerful plants is the Cacao Tree, with is superfood the cacao bean.

I invite you to join me for Leap Year Cacao Ceremony on Thursday, February 29th at 5:30 pm EST to learn more about the incredible benefits of Cacao on our overall well-being.

During this experience, I’ll provide a brief history of the significance of cacao, and then we will participate in a cacao ceremony. This will incorporate some meditation, history of cacao, as well as gentle movement and energetic intention setting. Of course we will be sipping ceremonial-grade cacao as we enjoy the evening.

I’ll also discuss the importance of plant-based diets as well as the many mental health symptoms that can be reduced by plants found in nature. We'll conclude with a light vegetarian supper.

Meet Marianne Bartley, The Facilitator of Leap Year Cacao Ceremony

I am excited to share what I have learned over the years about this powerful plant, the Cacao tree. It is through my affiliation with Danette May that I have experienced the power of cacao ceremonies. In addition, through my work as a health coach with the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, I have learned some of the scientific facts about cacao, and the impact it has on our bodies.

Thus, as a health and leadership coach, yoga instructor, and life-long educator with a background in art history, I am excited about bringing this experience to you. In each of my events, I strive to harness personal energy and collective brain power to bring you my best, which in turn, has a positive impact on the lives of my clients. I believe that our actions then have a positive impact in our environment and world..

Science Backs the Benefits of Cacao

Are you familiar with horticultural therapy? This is just one of the many ways plants can help improve our physical wellness and mental well-being.

Horticultural therapy is a professional practice that uses plants and gardening to improve mental and physical health. Throughout the last century, scientists have explored the benefits of plants beyond nutrition. During Leap Year Cacao Ceremony, I’ll shed light on a few significant findings within the field of horticulture therapy so that you can start reaping the benefits at home! Although we cannot grow cacao trees in Pennsylvania outdoors, there are many plants and herbs that can help keep us healthy.

From reducing blood pressure to elevating mood, plants have a role to play in every aspect of our health and well-being. Live plants signal the presence of a life-supporting environment and encourage human growth and development in numerous ways.
