Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Partners with Local High Schools for Career Exploration Program
Who:
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health will once again
host the successful career exploration program, A Day in the Life, for
local high school students at Lancaster General Hospital. The program will
provide a hands-on educational day for students as they develop
career plans for their future.
What:
A Day in the Life is an educational program where students learn about an occupation by shadowing an experienced professional. LG Health partnered with Lancaster County's local public and private schools, as well as the
Lancaster County Career and Technology Center, to invite students who have an
interest in the medical field to join LG Health representatives to learn more
about the health system and explore possible career options. It is anticipated
that approximately 260 students will rotate through the 2-day program that
features eight hands-on activities representing Physical Medicine and Rehab, Radiology, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Cardiology, PA College, Laboratory Services, Nursing, and Surgical Services. The program includes an opportunity to job shadow in a student-selected area of choice.
LG Health representatives as well as selected high school students participating in the program will be available for interviews during the morning of October 26th between 10-11:30
a.m. Please RSVP by October 25th to allow planning for an LG Health representative to meet interested media to escort them to the program.
