Three WellSpan Hospitals Ranked Among Best
Maternity Hospitals in America by Leading Publication
YORK, PA (October 6, 2022) – WellSpan Health is delivering more than just babies, as three of its hospitals are now nationally recognized for expert maternity care. WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, and WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital have made the list of the best maternity hospitals in America, according to Money.
Money, a personal finance website,
recently teamed up with The Leapfrog Group to develop the first every Best
Maternity Hospital ranking.
“WellSpan Health is dedicated to delivering safe, quality and affordable healthcare to our neighbors in South Central Pennsylvania. We are honored that Money and The Leapfrog Group have acknowledged our efforts by naming three WellSpan hospital to their list of Best Maternity Hospitals in America,” said Dr. Michael Seim, senior vice president and chief quality officer, WellSpan Health.
To compile its new list of the top hospitals in the country for maternity care in partnership with Money, the Leapfrog Group used maternity care data from the 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. To qualify for the list, eligible hospitals were required to carry an ‘A’ or ‘B’ letter grade on the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assessment for spring 2022 and meet criteria specific to providing maternity care.

The Leapfrog Group is a nonprofit
organization that aims to help consumers make informed decisions about their

and published data on patient safety and quality of care from voluntary surveys
