Over 38 years ago, I came to my wife Kristin with a crazy idea and a dream to start a communications company. How she said “yes” while sitting in our tiny apartment amazes me to this day. Over those 38 years we have been blessed with fantastic customers and a team of employees that are really like family to us.
As many of you know, when you run a company in a small town,
the employees and the customers become such an incredible part of your story.
That is how Kristin and I have felt throughout this journey. Unfortunately,
there also comes a time where retirement is a little closer than we all would
like to admit, and the thought of succession planning becomes a needed
reality. The concern becomes who will lead our company for the next 30 years?
Kristin and I have been working through this for the last
several years, searching for that right person/situation. We are not
finished with our roles here, so it was important to us to find that perfect
situation where we were able to continue working while still preparing Choice
Communications for the future.
With that said, we would like to introduce David Breinich and
his wife Emily as the newest partners in Choice Communications. Prior to
joining Choice Communications, David owned Central Penn Wire in Lancaster
which Choice used as our primary supplier for our wire and cable. We had an
excellent working relationship with David over these last 8 years and are
excited to have him be a part of our company. Both David and Emily know what
it means to run a business in a small town. His wife Emily has been operating
her own hair salon, Pure Joy Salon, in Manheim for 18 years while David
started Central Penn Wire in Lancaster in 2011.
I am staying in my role as the primary salesperson for Choice,
while Kristin still has the unfortunate job of trying to keep us all
organized as our office manager. You will all see David as he starts to get
more familiar with our customers and our processes.
From the outside looking in, not much will seem different, but as part of our “family” we wanted to make sure that we shared this exciting part of our story.
Sincerely,
Max Bender
