Lancaster County Joining Forces to Host Community Forum

Who: Lancaster County Joining Forces is a collection of organizations and individuals who want to save lives and help those struggling with addiction. A partnership between Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, community groups, coalitions, and tasks forces, Joining Forces works together to strategically reduce the number of deaths from opioid addiction in Lancaster County. Joining Forces unifies and strengthens the work these organizations are doing separately, while providing an opportunity to identify gaps in services and treatments, to ultimately save more lives together.
What: The event is open to businesses, faith-based and community organizations, schools, and concerned citizens. The forum will include a presentation on results from the recent community-wide Stigma Survey, as well as a review of evidence-based anti-stigma strategies. Full agenda of the forum is attached.
Approximately 8:30 a.m. F&M Center for Opinion Research will present the findings of the Stigma Survey. Joining Forces partnered with the Center for Opinion Research to conduct a county-wide survey on stigma related to substance use. The full report provides an overview of the survey goals, methods, results, and a discussion about the importance of these results for preventing overdose deaths. The goal of the survey was to measure Lancaster County residents’ knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors related to addiction and recovery.
