Lebanon, PA
02/03/2021 02:55 PM
The Lebanon Valley Conservancy (TLVC) is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Richard H. and Karen R. Light Memorial Scholarship. The $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a local student who plans to pursue a career in the environmental sciences.

TLVC awards this scholarship to a local student each spring, in memory of Richard and Karen Light, who were active environmentalists in Lebanon County. “The Lights made a great impact on local conservation efforts… they shared their knowledge and love of nature with everyone,” stated Laurie Crawford, Executive Director of TLVC. “The scholarship recipient is encouraged to inspire others and carry on their mission.”

The scholarship will be awarded to a student who resides in the Lebanon Valley and is pursuing a degree in conservation, ecology, natural resources, wildlife management, water resources management or environmental sciences. Eligible students include graduating high school seniors as well as students attending Lebanon Valley College or Harrisburg Area Community College. Students interested in applying can visit www.TLVC.org for more information and application requirements. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 1, 2021 and the award will be presented at a May event.
