Jonestown Bank & Trust Co. (JBT) recently received two special awards from FIRSTPAC, the only political action committee that exclusively represents community banks in Pennsylvania.
FIRSTPAC is powered by the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers (PACB), based in Harrisburg.
JBT received the FIRSTPAC Chairman’s Award for its continued financial support of PACB, including its latest 2019 challenge contribution, and for the bank’s advocacy of the association’s mission to promote the preservation and growth of Pennsylvania’s Community Banking industry. In addition, JBT received the FIRSTPAC Team Award for its noteworthy employee participation and support of individual PAC campaigns. Both awards were presented to JBT by Allison Coccia, Director of Government Relations, PACB.
Troy A. Peters, President & CEO of JBT, noted, “Community banks serve local families, businesses, and community organizations in way that makes us all stronger. It is vitally important to be sure PA’s community banks have a strong voice that works with government officials. We must ensure communities have access to banking solutions that are more available, flexible and affordable. JBT works hard to be more innovative with technology and more helpful to clients, but it only works when FIRSTPAC and PACB have the tough government issues covered. We appreciate everything they do for all community banks here in PA.”
