Lebanon, PA
03/24/2015 01:52 PM
At the Masonic Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania Annual Meeting on December 27, 2013, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bro. Robert J. Bateman was installed as the Right Worshipful Grand Master of Masons of Pennsylvania. During his inaugural address, he issued a challenge, that all lodges in Pennsylvania would honor both first responders and veterans at their meetings in 2014 & 2015. The 1st Masonic District of Pennsylvania decided to take his challenge to a higher level, by holding a gun raffle in the 1st Masonic District to support the VA Hospital in Lebanon, PA (since it is located in their District). During 2014, all ten lodges in the 1st Masonic District worked very hard at making this fundraiser a success. By the end of 2014, the 1st Masonic District had raised nearly $10,000.00 dollars toward that purpose.

During the official visit of the District Deputy Grand Master, Bro. Larry A. Derr of the 1st Masonic District of Pennsylvania, to the Mount Lebanon Lodge No. 226 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on March 19, 2015, Derr presented a check to Mr. Scott W. Harman, Chief of Voluntary Services, of the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
