LVC recently announced an upcoming workshop being held on campus on June 13 titled “Religion and Diversity in the Public Classroom.” This workshop, which is being led by Matthew Sayers, an associate professor of religion at the college, will aim to “introduce education professionals to the role religion plays in education and prepare participants to react to encounters between students of different faith backgrounds in a healthy way.”

The workshop will have two learning goals. The first will be to "develop an appreciation of the diverse and complex nature of religion in America." The second learning goal will be to "develop the knowledge and skills necessary for taking an educational and leadership role in interfaith encounters."

The workshop costs $90 and participants will receive ten (10) Act 48 credit hours for completion. On-line registration is available at www.lvc.edu/gps/religiondiversity.aspx. More information and details are available by downloading this event brochure.
