Vincent R. Boltz Installs Air Scrubber to Improve Home, Commercial Air Quality
For months, Vincent R. Boltz, a
division of the Rhoads Energy Family of Companies has been installing the Air
Scrubber — a device that removes contaminants and dust from indoor
environments, making them safer and healthier.
Now, a new study shows how effective the technology in the Air Scrubber can be against the coronavirus — a finding that will likely increase already high demand for the device.
On December 14, ActivePure
Technologies, LLC, the maker of the Air Scrubber, announced that its air
purifying technology inactivated over 99.9% of highly concentrated airborne
SARS-CoV-2 virus in an enclosed setting in just 3 minutes, below detectable
levels. The technology was tested in FDA-compliant,
independent third-party labs for its effectiveness against COVID-19.
The news became the focus of a recent Washington
Post story, which notes that while most home-based air purifiers rely on passive HEPA filters or ultraviolet light to kill contaminants, “ActivePure uses active, NASA-inspired technology to disinfect the air.”
“This gives us an important new tool in the fight against this pandemic,” said Todd Wagstaff, Rhoads Director of Service. “We’re all spending more time inside during the winter months, so the technology in the Air Scrubber plays a vital role in dramatically improving the air quality in an indoor environment.”
Wagstaff notes that the Air Scrubber
can be installed in homes or businesses throughout the regional service area
covered by Rhoads Energy and its affiliates:
V.R. Boltz, Boyertown Oil & Propane, E.G. Smith Inc., and Mack
Energy.
The Air Scrubber attaches directly to a home’s HVAC system and removes viruses, bacteria, and other pollutants. The technology in the Air Scrubber has also been clinically proven to eliminate norovirus, Swine Flu (H1N1), MRSA, E.coli, and other illness-causing bacteria and viruses, as well as molds, surface contaminants, pet dander, odors, and dust.
Rhoads
Energy has already installed dozens of Air Scrubbers across its service area
including local restaurants and other businesses. The company also offers portable units for homes that do not
have ductwork and for other applications including campers, vehicles, and
personal offices. For details on Air Scrubber and the recent study, visit the Boltz website at https://www.rhoadsenergy.com/boltz/indoor-air-quality.
