LEBANON SALVATION ARMY ANNOUNCES “BATTLE OF THE BELLS” WINNERS

The Annual Red Kettle Campaign, the principal fundraising event for the Salvation Army Lebanon Corps, raised over $106,000 this past season.   These funds are used to support the programs and services for those in need here in Lebanon County.  

“This is just one demonstration of how the funds keep LOVE GOING BEYOND CHRISTMAS and how blessed    we are to live in a community that opens their hearts and wallets to people in need,” said Capt Ivonne Rodriguez. “We were also in the midst of our Angel Tree Program that provides gifts and food to families in need as well as our Senior Food Box distribution. Every donation helps us to “Doing the Most Good.”

Lebanon Salvation Army “Battle of the Bells” team competition is a friendly competition among volunteer groups that ring the bell at various locations throughout Lebanon County to see who collects the most donations in their kettle(s) during the season.          

The winners this year are:    

  • “Community Organization/Group Bell Ringing Team Trophy”, Team Chaundy  
  • “Financial Institution Bell Ringing Trophy”, Jonestown Bank and Trust  
  • “Religious Organization Bell Ringing Trophy, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lebanon  
  • “Youth Organization Bell Ringing Trophy”, Northern Lebanon Cross Country Team  
  • “Lebanon Valley College Team Bell Ringing Trophy”, LVC Men’s Lacrosse Team        

“The Lebanon Salvation Army Corps is very grateful to the many individuals, organizations and groups who made this year’s fundraising campaign successful,” said Captain. Marlon Rodriguez, Commanding Officer of the Lebanon Salvation Army . “Combined with our on-line virtual kettle campaign, our kettles will be able to DO THE MOST GOOD in our county.”          

This year’s groups include: American Heart Association, Bubba’s Bears, Church of the Good Shepherd, Frieden's Lutheran Church, Fulton Bank, Hershey-Palmyra Sertoma, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jonestown Bank and Trust, Jonestown Lions Club, Kiwanis Club of Lebanon, Lebanon County Realtor Association, Lebanon County Young Republicans, Lebanon Federal Credit Union, Lebanon Rotary Club, Lebanon Salvation Army Advisory Board, Lebanon Valley College Men’s Lacrosse Team, Lebanon Valley Motorcycle Club, Make It Rein (Deer), Mary Gate of Heaven, Mt. Aetna Bible Church, Northern Lebanon High School Cross Country Team, Northern Lebanon Rotary, Northwest Bank, Palmyra 1st United Methodist Church, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Team Chaundy, Trinity United Methodist Church, Unity of Palmyra, Zentz Family.         

Added Rodriguez. “All of our fine businesses, volunteers and our community willing to open their hearts and give, will help us Do More Good in 2024.  Love does go beyond Christmas.”
