United Way of Lebanon County Collecting School Supplies for Local Students in Need
LEBANON
COUNTY, PA: United Way of Lebanon County is hosting its annual Stuff
the Bus school supply drive now through July 20th.
Not being able to afford basic school supplies is a barrier for many children and youth in Lebanon County communities. The goal for the United Way’s Stuff the Bus annual school supply drive is to ensure that every child who needs them in every school district in the county has a new backpack and basic supplies to start the new school year. Last year backpacks and supplies collected through Stuff the Bus were distributed to more than 700 students who needed them but could not afford to purchase them.
How
our community can help:
= Purchase
school supplies while out shopping and drop them off on Saturday, July 13th
or 20th, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM at the YMCA Train Depot, 250 North Eighth
Street in Lebanon.
= Purchase
supplies online and send them to the United Way of Lebanon County using the
amazon Stuff the Bus Wishlist .
= Host a
supply collection at your workplace, church or through your civic group, and
drop them off on Saturday, July 20th, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM
at the YMCA Train Depot, 250 North Eighth Street in Lebanon. Pick-up of
collected items can also be arranged by contacting the United Way office at
717-273-8144 on or before Wednesday, July 17th.
School
supplies needed: backpacks, #2 pencils, pens, tablets, crayons, folders,
colored pencils.
Students
from all districts in the county will pick up donated supplies at the
Back-to-School Festival on August 3rd from 9:00 AM to Noon at
the Middle School Stadium on 7th and Church St, Lebanon. No student
preregistration is needed for them to receive donated supplies. In
addition, collected supplies will be given to Lebanon County schools for
distribution to additional students who need them.
