On September 30, 2021, United Way of Lebanon County officially kicked off their 2021-22 Community Fundraising Campaign with supporters and other community leaders at Mt. Hope Estate and Winery. “It's an exciting time to join this amazing organization as we kick off another campaign. I’m confident that together we can work to address the complex challenges residents of Lebanon County are facing,” says Julia Krall, United Way’s Executive Director and newest member of the team.
United Way announced a campaign goal of $1 million dollars, which will be invested locally in programs that empower families to improve their economic self-dependence, remove barriers to learning for our most vulnerable children to ensure they are self-dependent as adults, and give all of our children a strong start in life. United Way also announced Cornell Wilson, Making a Difference of Lebanon, PA, as the inaugural recipient of Leonard Washington Community Service Award. This award was created to memorialize the significant contributions made by Leonard Washington to United Way and Lebanon County. Leonard’s widow, Tina, and their family selected Cornell from a variety of worthy applicants because of his commitment to improving lives throughout our communities.
The campaign kickoff event was sponsored by Bonduelle, Henise Tire Service, and Hershey. United Way’s 2021-22 campaign is sponsored by WellSpan Health and Penn State Health.
