As of Friday, December 18, the United Way of Lebanon County has collected 1,882 new and gently worn hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, coats, sweaters and more for adults and children through the 7th annual “LIVE WARM” Drive.  The number of items collected is a 40% increase over last year’s efforts.

Early in the week of Monday, December 14, three volunteers from Bayer Healthcare sorted, organized and delivered a total of 1,494 clothing donations to five of United Way’s local human service agency partners: Domestic Violence Intervention, Lebanon County Christian Ministries, Lebanon Family Health Services, Salvation Army and SARCC (Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center).  As donations continue to arrive, a second delivery of the remaining items will take place in the days before the Christmas Holiday.

“…thank you to the United Way for their generous donation of hats and mittens to our giving tree here at the WIC office.  We truly appreciate it as we see 3,000 clients per month!”  said a member of the WIC staff at Lebanon Family Health Services on Cumberland St.

United Way thanks all the individuals, churches and the following businesses and organizations who generously donated items to LIVE WARM to keep Lebanon County warm this winter: ASK Foods Inc., Bayer Healthcare LCC, Brentwood Industries, Chocolate Workers Local #464, Compeer of Lebanon County, Cornwall Lebanon School District, Developmental & Disability Services of Lebanon Valley, Fulton Bank, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Lancaster General Health, Lebanon Daily News, Lebanon Valley Family Medicine, Lebanon Valley YMCA, Literacy Council of Lancaster-Lebanon, Lebanon County Library System, QUEST Inc., and Sherwin Williams.
