The
Lebanon Community Theatre (LCT) Board of Directors is pleased to announce its
upcoming fall production schedule. LCT patrons are invited to join the cast,
crew, and volunteers for performances of Arsenic
and Old Lace and Little Shop of Horrors
at the barn at Stoever’s Dam Park in Lebanon.
Dark comedy fans will not want to miss the first LCT production for fall 2018. Director Jack Ferry will bring Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace to the barn beginning this Thursday, September 20. This hilarious classic introduces the Brewster family: sweet spinsters Abby and Martha (played by Cheryl Reiss and Jane Zendarski, respectively), Teddy, who is convinced he’s Teddy Roosevelt (played by Dan Walmer), homicidal maniac Jonathan (played by Wiley Parker), and theater critic Mortimer (played by Griffin Yeyna). Mortimer’s world is turned upside down when discovers that his beloved aunts have developed a very bad habit: poisoning lonely old men!
“This is one of those rare classics that just gets better with age,” Ferry said. “What could be more fun than two sweet old ladies who spice up their elderberry wine recipe with arsenic, strychnine and just a pinch of cyanide?”
Performances of Arsenic will be held on September 20 – 23 and 27 – 30. Tickets are on sale now at www.LebanonCommunityTheatre.org or by calling 717-833-4LCT. Thursday tickets are $10 for students and $14 for adults, and all other performances are $12 for students and $16 for adults.
Following
Arsenic and Old Lace is the rock
musical, Little Shop of Horrors, under the direction of Rick Graybill. This
story follows Seymour, a hapless floral shop employee from Skid Row, who finds
his courage after his favorite plant develops a dangerous habit. Seymour
(played by Rick Kopecky) finds help from his coworker, Audrey (played by
Juliana Wardle), but not before the plant causes trouble for some of the
residents of Skid Row.
Fittingly,
Little Shop opens on Halloween night, October 31, with additional performances held on November 1 – 4 and 8 – 11. Weekday tickets are $15 for students and $20 for adults, and weekend performances are $18 for students and $22 for adults.
