We are looking for an experienced full-time Volunteer Projects Coordinator to work with Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) volunteers on projects, assigns work, moves and positions supplies to support volunteer operations, and acts as lead projects coordinator when assigned. This position also maintains volunteer records and reports, as required.

Hours: Hours will be M-F, 7:30-4p. One evening per week until 7pm will be required.
Job Accountabilities:
- Orient, train, and monitor new and recurring volunteers within the volunteer area.
- Assign and oversee individuals and groups in the inspection, sorting, repacking, and boxing of products to be distributed to partner agencies and other organizations.
- Ensure that volunteers check-in using the volunteer software for recording and tracking volunteer hours.
- Communicate to volunteers the CPFB Mission and what their task is for the shift and who it will benefit.
- Ensure project completion in a timely manner and maintain inventory controls. Determine product for projects.
- Responsible for safe product movement within the warehouse and dock and other outside special projects and events.
- Responsible for maintaining the volunteer areas and other assigned areas according to AIB, Feeding America, and CPFB guidelines.
- Refresh and stay abreast of new policies and guidelines to rejuvenate training for recurring volunteers to keep them up-to-date and engaged.
- Must stay abreast of changes pertaining to pandemic or any health crisis and ensure all volunteers and staff are following proper guidelines and food bank procedure
- Stage inventory neatly, accurately, and safely 18 inches off walls and always keep Emergency Exit doors clear.
- Understand the personal responsibility to follow all safety policies and health rules, programs and procedures, and report all safety issues, incidents or accidents immediately.
- Support safety, health, operational efficiency, and workplace cleanliness for volunteers and staff.
- Ensure that personal work areas are organized, clean, safe, and clutter free.
- Be willing and available for extra assignments as needed or requested.
- Maintain a cheerful and courteous service relationship with businesses, schools, employees, volunteers, agencies, visitors, donors, and clients.
- Assist in developing and implementing volunteer project policies, procedures, and inventory controls.
- Assist project volunteers with questions and direction and ensure volunteers have a positive and productive experience.
- Responsible for inventory of all volunteer project related activities including, but not limited to, the senior programs boxes.
- Assign work, provide oversight and information to co-workers, and ensure completion of projects and appropriate documentation.
- Ensure completion of assigned volunteer projects paperwork and report daily on completion of projects.
- Interact with special needs volunteers and communicate with their authorized representatives or developmental aides.
- Review safety guidelines and ensure volunteer groups are behaving safely and appropriately in their work area.
- Actively collaborate with other departments to troubleshoot volunteer project issues as they arise.
- Ensure general maintenance and safety of volunteer area: clean and keep supplies stocked and ready for groups, and ensure all health and safety regulations are met. Maintain all refuse containers on floor, keep hopper empty and washed out daily. Utilize Floor Scrubber to keep floors clean, dust free.
- Refer any serious issues or problems with individual volunteers or group volunteers to Front Warehouse and Volunteer Manager.
- Close and secure the building at night.
- Assist with events (Volunteer Appreciation Day, etc.), as assigned.
- Assist in the warehouse with all warehouse activities including, but not limited to, moving product, loading and unloading trucks, and sanitation.
- Ensure that all warehouse equipment and supplies necessary for volunteer area are available (i.e. markers, box cutters, gloves, etc.).
- Assist with all relevant PA Senior Box program requirements including but not limited to receiving, maintaining accurate inventory, picking runs of product to pack, and inventory system processes.

- In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, CPFB is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all of its employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
