Lebanon County Reads Celebration Begins in June!
Lebanon, PA
05/22/2019 10:14 AM
Representatives from the public libraries in Annville, Fredericksburg, Lebanon, Myerstown, Palmyra, and Richland are pleased to announce The Baker’s Secret by Stephen Kiernan as the 2019 Lebanon County Reads selection. Special thanks to our partners for Lebanon County Reads: The Bishop Foundation, Congregation Beth Israel, and the Gannett Foundation.

Committee members narrowed down a lengthy list to five titles.  We invited Lebanon County residents to vote for the title they thought we should read this year.  The four other titles that were part of this year’s vote were:
Carnegie’s Maid by Marie Benedict
Oil & Marble by Stephanie Storey
A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Kline
Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America’s National Parks by Mark Woods

Campaign organizers encourage everyone to read this historical fiction selection and participate in book discussions at their local library.  All Lebanon County libraries will have copies of the book available to read starting in June.  Formats available include regular print, large print, audiobook on CD, and downloadable e-book and e-audiobook.  For more details, visit the Lebanon County Reads website.

This year’s celebration concludes with the Author Lecture, hosted by Congregation Beth Israel on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 8PM.  Ticket sales begin Monday, June 3rd at all six Lebanon County Library System locations and at Cornwall Manor’s Gateway Library during normal business hours.  Tickets may also be purchased by mailing a check (made payable to Congregation Beth Israel) with a self-addressed stamped envelope to Congregation Beth Israel, 411 S. 8th St., Lebanon, 17042.
