We are looking for a part-time, seasonal, Youth Programs Summer Monitor to support to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) Youth Programs Team’s summer feeding initiatives. This seasonal position is part-time, 20-25 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible but availability between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. is essential. This position can work from either the Harrisburg or Williamsport, PA office. This position requires substantial driving to summer feeding sites. A requirement of this position is the ability to successfully complete a Pennsylvania State Police Clearance, a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and a Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Record Information.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Conduct accurate monitoring of CPFB feeding sites in select counties.
  • Engage with agency partners in the community via phone, email, and in-person to collect paperwork and get feedback about meal counts/delivery.
  • Collect data about youth feeding programs via surveys and informal discussions with agency partners.
  • Review accuracy and completion of paperwork before submitting internally.
  • Support the day-to-day planning and operations of the CPFB summer youth program.
  • Support the Agency Services Department team during potential weather-related slow times.

 

Other Duties:

  • In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, CPFB is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.

Requirements
 

Education and Experience:

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Ideally, enrolled college student.

 

Experience:
•     Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
•     Previous experience working with youths in a positive manner.

demonstrate flexibility in balancing the needs of various programs and staff.
•     Knowledge of organization’s computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite,
department-specific software systems, telecommunications, and internet applications.
•     Ability to use and be comfortable with mobile devices; compliance is done paperlessly via an 
application compatible with Android and iPhone.
•     Ability to operate standard office equipment (machines, tools, and devices) used in 
performing only the essential function include computer and related equipment, calculator,
photocopier, fax machine, and telephone.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

 

Physical Requirements or Licenses:

 

 

  • Ability to successfully complete a Pennsylvania State Police Clearance, a Pennsylvania Child
    Abuse History Clearance obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and a
    Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Record Information obtained by submitting a full
    set of fingerprints to the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent for submission to the
    Federal Bureau of Investigation.
     
  • Complete necessary ServSafe Training Food Handler Training for Food Banking.    
  • A valid driver’s license with history of a good driving record. This position involves substantial daytime travel to summer feeding sites. Mileage reimbursement is provided. 

  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Conditions may include working closely with others, working alone, and working protracted or irregular and flexible hours.
  • The work environment is typically quiet.
