Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, public administration, non-profit management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- One or two years of experience desired but not required. This is an entry-level position.
- Previous work experience in a non-profit business environment preferred.

Strong understanding of and familiarity with issues of poverty and food insecurity. Must be friendly, outgoing, positive attitude, and comfortable speaking to people.
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and an outstanding ability to motivate individuals from different cultures, mindsets, and areas of expertise.
Ability to work cooperatively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to always abide by the CPFB’s values and appropriate business ethics.
Exhibit strong verbal, written, analytical, public speaking and presentation, planning, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to write, edit, and proofread correspondence and presentation materials for accuracy and style.

Advocacy experience at the local, state or federal level (preferably all three).

Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed.
Ability to travel effectively for required meetings and events.
Knowledge of the organization’s computer software and systems, including being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, department-specific software systems, telecommunications, and internet applications.
Ability to attend departmental and all-staff meetings as directed, staying informed of ongoing changes in department and overall organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Physical Requirements or Licenses:
- This position has the ability to work remote, in-office or hybrid at the discretion of the SVP/Chief Equity Officer or based on the needs of the organization.
- Required to register as a lobbyist with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- A valid driver’s license with history of a good driving record and auto insurance required.
- Ability to travel that may include consecutive overnight stays, and traveling by car, bus, and airplane.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds.
- Conditions may include working outside in inclement weather, working closely with others, working alone, and working protracted or irregular hours.
- The work environment is typically quiet.
