Barley Snyder attorney Hannah M. Schroer has
been appointed to The
GateHouse’s Board of Directors.
The nonprofit organization, located in the heart of
Lancaster City, has been a pillar in its community working to transform and
encourage lifelong recovery for individuals struggling with addiction. For over
50 years, The GateHouse has provided personalized treatments and services to
individuals and families within the community to aid in overcoming the
addictive cycle. The center offers a variety of programs, including outpatient
treatment, sober living, and support services designed to help individuals not
only achieve but maintain recovery.
“Over the summer, I had the opportunity to visit one of The
GateHouse’s residential homes and see the organization’s dedication to
transforming lives through accredited recovery services,” said Schroer. “I was
impressed by their work to empower participants through life skills, such as
cooking and even gardening, and I am thrilled to have a part in furthering The
Gatehouse’s important mission.”
Schroer is a member of Barley Snyder’s Employment Practice Group. Prior
to joining the firm, she worked as a Judicial Clerk at the Lancaster County

career in law, Schroer worked as a freelance journalist. She is a graduate of the
Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and Rutgers University. Active
in her community, Schroer is a volunteer with the Lancaster Conservancy’s Water
Quality Volunteer Coalition and serves on the Pastoral Council at her local
