Employee Handbook Workshop

Employee Handbook Workshop

Employment Handbook Workshop

Join us for an insightful Employment Handbook Workshop designed to provide employers, HR professionals, and business owners with a comprehensive understanding of essential employment policies and practices. Led by experienced employment attorneys, this workshop covers a range of crucial topics that are vital for maintaining a compliant and employee-friendly work environment. It also contains important practical guidance and best-practice methods because the attorneys know that staff is a company’s best asset.

Workshop Highlights:

Employee Benefits Policies:

  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA): Learn the important concepts and practical applications of the FMLA, including employee eligibility, notification procedures, and the overlap with other time off and reasonable accommodation policies.
  • Workers’ Compensation: Understand the fundamentals of workers' compensation, including coverage, reporting, and the importance of maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Vacation, Sick time, or other Paid Time Off (PTO): Explore best practices for managing vacation, sick, and PTO policies, addressing accrual, usage, and approval processes. You’ll learn how to make sure that you do not accidentally classify these fringe benefits as wages either. Further, many surrounding states require paid sick leave; learn about how to overlap state-mandated sick leave with these policies.

Human Resources Policies and Procedures:

  • Equal Employment Opportunity Policy: Gain insights into creating and implementing policies that promote a non-discriminatory workplace.
  • Sexual and Other Harassment Policies: Learn how to develop effective anti-harassment policies and procedures, fostering a safe and respectful workplace. The content of an Anti-Harassment policy can make or break a lawsuit.  Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Understand ADA compliance, reasonable accommodation interactive processes, and the rights of employees with disabilities, with a brief primer on undue hardship and direct threat analyses.
  • 2023-2024 Legal Updates: Understand the importance of policies recognizing new laws such as the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the PUMP Act, and the ever-changing concerted activity protections.
