It’s a once in a lifetime year for the Borough of Myerstown, Pa. And the powers that be are pulling out all the stops to make the year a memorable one for residents and all concerned.
A successful kick-off luncheon and a 5 K Run event have set the stage for some special happenings and great celebrations to pull the community together.
“The theme of the Borough is that we are Built on Community”, Borough Manager Michael McKenna says, “It’s been wonderful to see our citizens and the business community come together and plan everything that’s coming up”.
Here’s an overview of the ways the Sestercentennial (250th) will be celebrated:
1. YouTube Commemorative Video - Myerstown resident Bob Brocklehurst, a former WWII combat pilot, will climb into a cockpit of a high-winged Decathlon Stunt Plane, and fly stunts on June 26th to honor the Sestercentennial (250 years) celebration. Bob is 98 years old! The footage will be incorporated into a Video that will be unveiled as part of the Weekend at the Park event on August 25th.
