Dennis Dieffenbach

Dennis has organized and run the Flags for Heroes Project for the Myerstown-Elco Rotary for 7 years. The project honors the nation's fallen soldiers, first responders, and community heroes. Each year the Friedens Lutheran Church lawn is adorned with 200 American flags. Individual names are displayed on a large banner near the parking lot. The names of those represented by flags are updated annually.  

Speaker Panel: Jared Kreiser & Parents - Mike and Peg Kreiser

Jared Kreiser a local resident of Lebanon County served in the United States Marine Corps.  He was stationed  in Hawaii and served with 2nd Bn 3rd Marines.  He was deployed in September 2006 and was Wounded in Action in October 2006 by an IED. Over the next 3 years he would go through 36 surgeries and over 100 operations at Bethesda Naval Medical Center.  Jared was medically retired in 2010 due to his injuries. He now works for Iron Valley Harley Davidson and is a proud dad of 2 beautiful daughters. Mike and Peg Kreiser are well known in the community.  Peggy worked for the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce for 13 years and Mike also a Marine, worked for Hauck Manufacturing. Mike’s company was the recipient of this Award in 2007.  His company gave him the time off to be at his Son’s bedside through all Jared’s surgeries.
