Big
Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region prepares for its largest annual
fundraiser.
Harrisburg,
PA (March 6, 2018) – Corporate teams and community members are signing up to participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region’s (BBBSCR) 2018 Bowl for Kids’ Sake. This spring, there are five events at three bowling centers.
“Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our largest and longest running annual fundraiser. Everyone who participates or donates becomes an advocate for positive role models for children in our communities.” says President & CEO, Maddie Young. “The impact of a mentor is exponential; a Big’s positive support and encouragement for their Little is seen at home, at school and at play. Our 2018 goal is to raise $150,000 to support these children, their mentors, their families and our communities,” says Young.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake participants register online at capbigs.org to create their fundraising page and recruit four other individuals to join their team. Each participant raises a minimum of $80, that’s $400 a team, but some teams raise up to and beyond $1,000. To celebrate the fundraising success, BBSCR puts together the BIGgest bowling party ever. Participants enjoy two games of bowling, pizza, drinks, t-shirt and raffle prizes.
Companies participate by recruiting corporate
bowling teams, sponsoring the event, donating or sponsoring a team of Little
Brothers and Little Sisters to bowl. This event is a great team building
opportunity and philanthropic venture for companies invested in the health of
their community.
Big Brothers and Sisters and their Little Brothers
and Sisters will be at the bowling events to greet participants and thank them
for their support. This event is a fun feel-good activity that the entire
family can enjoy. Anyone can participate simply by registering at capbigs.org
and selecting the event they want to attend.

April 7th @ 3pm, ABC West, Mechanicsburg
April 12th @ 6pm, Midway Bowl, Carlisle
April 14th @ Noon, ABC West, Mechanicsburg
April 27th @ 6:30pm, Palmyra Bowling, Palmyra
