Fun, FREE, active event to encourage 60 minutes of active play each day!

Activities geared toward kids in grades K-5

 

Events & Activities:

LVC student athletes will help kids learn the fun & importance of a healthy, active life through functional activities that require little to no equipment.  Complete 5+ activity stations and receive a free water bottle!  

12:00 - 2:00 PM:  Activity stations for kids (jumping jacks, planking, obstacle course)

Featured activities:

Kids Yoga class at 12:30 PM

Healthy cooking demonstations by WellSpan Health

Partner workout class for parents & kids at 1:15 PM 

Plant your own tomato plant to take home, courtesy of the Lebanon County Conservation District 

 

*  Parents will be required to sign a waiver in order for kids to participate in physical activities.

Tour of LEED Platinum Kreider Commons

Join the US Green Building Council Central PA for a tour of our 2017 LEED Project of the Year, Kreider Commons! The project team will share the story of this historic manufacturing building & how they adapted it into green, affordable senior living apartments. After the walking tour, happy hour will be held at Downtown Lounge, 734 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Kreider Commons is an innovative, adaptive reuse project in downtown Lebanon that has achieved LEED for Homes Platinum certification. The building was adapted from the six story former A.S. Kreider Shoe Company's warehouse into 50 one and two- bedroom modern affordable rental apartments for independent seniors. Kreider Commons achieves exceptional energy performance, especially for a 98-year old building renovated to historic standards. Green features include: rooftop solar water heating system; high R-value wall & roof insulation; energy efficient windows & heat pumps; energy recovery ventilator (ERV); ENERGY STAR appliances, lighting and bath exhaust fan; low-VOC paints, adhesives and sealants, and low formaldehyde composite woods.

We will paddle 30 miles over two days, and camp on the banks of the Swatara.  Registration required.  Use your own canoe or kayak, or we have canoes, paddles and life vests available for an additional donation.

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to join Lebanon City Police Chief Todd Breiner on a fitness walk that will focus on bicycle safety tips.  All kids will receive a FREE neon green t-shirt that says "I Walked the Beat" and a safety book.

The walk begins at the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA and will be highlighted by a stop at the Lebanon Farmers Market.  At the Lebanon Farmers Market, the kids will receive a healthy snack from Market vendors and then join "Police, Read to Me", where bicycle safety will be the book topic read by a Lebanon City Police Officer.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Walk is limited to the first 30 kids.  Registration forms may be obtained on the City of Lebanon website at www.lebanonpa.org
