Everyone is welcome to attend LLV's Leadership Day Conference. This annual event boasts phenomenal guest speakers and topics related to business and organizational challenges. Each participant will have the opportunity to network with and learn from a variety of community and business leaders.
You will have the option of attending 2 morning (A, B, C) and 2 afternoon (D, E, F) classes.
This year's line-up includes:
~ AM Workshop Sessions~
Workshop A: From Peer to Power: Transition to Leadership – Chip Schlesser, Staff Development Specialist, Lebanon VA Medical Center.
This class is designed for individuals assuming leadership roles with former peers. Objectives include setting clear boundaries, strengthening communication skills, taking strategic action and accepting responsibilities of the new role. The presentation will look at ways to implement the above mentioned strategies and making a smooth transition from line employee to management.
Workshop B: Sexual Harassment and the Recent Tsunami of Allegations - How to handle as an employer - Peggy Morcom, Esq., Buzgon Davis Law Offices.
Who’s interested in being a game show contestant? This session will start with Jeopardy, where the only category is “Bad Behavior.” We will discuss the definition of sexual harassment, examine recent legal cases/settlements, outline the tools necessary to be proactive in the workplace, reflect upon effective investigations, and determine why retaliation is a “dirty” word.
Workshop C: Conflict Management - Because chocolate doesn’t solve every problem in the workplace – Stephanie Andreozzi DPT MBA, Senior Director, Clinical Services, WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
While the candy dish on your desk can be a short-term fix, if conflict in the workplace isn’t addressed, it can affect staff morale, retention, and safety. This workshop provides an overview of why conflict exists, and how you can empower your team to have the right conversations for lasting results.
~PM Workshop Sessions~
Workshop D: Social Media in Business – Caty Wolf and Katie Kolt, WellSpan Health.
Gone are the days when a business could rely on consumers “liking” or “following” its Facebook page or Twitter feed as a “free” marketing strategy. These days it’s about relationship building and strategic use of paid social media campaigns to reach the right individuals with your message.
Workshop E: Driving Employee Engagement – Andy Sholly PHR, SHRM-CP, Vice-President of Human Resources, Aseracare.
This session will center around creating positive experiences, workplace engagement, employee motivation and identifying unique ways to connect with staff from a generational perspective.
Workshop F: Coaching & Feedback - Jason Trout, Vice-President and Chief Development Officer, WellSpan Health.
We all start off being pretty lousy coaches and it’s a never ending journey toward greatness. This interactive session will provide an interesting discussion forum to help you decide where you are on your journey and what you are willing to do to become better.
