2015 Patriot Day Concert

2015 Patriot Day Concert
This event honors the first responders in our community and the past and current members of the Armed Forces from our area. The Patriot Day Concert, which was first organized and hosted by our organization one year following the 9-11 attacks, has been held on September 11th each year since then.

Featuring an array of patriotic songs performed by The Lebanon Community Concert Band and guest performers, our Patriot Day Concert traditionally attracts a capacity audience in excess of 1,100 people.  The audience will include members of the police and fire departments and EMS units from throughout Lebanon County, along with current and many past members of the Armed Forces and their families.  The 2015 Concert  provides our community and many of its residents with the opportunity to pay tribute to those who serve as first responders and those who serve or served in America’s military.  

The Concert is free and open to the public, but each attendee must have a ticket. Tickets will be available late August at the Lebanon Valley Chamber Office, 604 Cumberland St., Lebanon PA.

LLV 5K Urban Run

LLV 5K Urban Run

The 2015 Leadership Lebanon Valley Class is proud to present their first ever 5K Urban Run! 

 

The Urban Run will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015. The run will begin at Snitz Creek Brewery, located at 7 North 9th Street in Lebanon, and the running path will go through Lebanon City. Registration for the run will be from 8:30 - 9 a.m. and the run itself will start at 10:30 a.m.

 

Proceeds from the Urban Run will benefit the Leadership Lebanon Valley Scholarship Fund. Information packets will be available for pick-up on Friday, September 11, until 4 pm at the Chamber office located at 604 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA 17042, and on Saturday, September 12, at the race site.

 

The purpose of Leadership Lebanon Valley is to broaden the base of future volunteer leadership within the Lebanon Valley community by cultivating the interest, knowledge and skills of potential volunteer leaders in order for them to contribute time and talents effectively in meeting the rapidly changing needs of our community.

Annual Wine Bus Tour - 10:00 a.m. Bus

***Note: This event listing is for the 10 a.m. bus. For the 9:30 a.m. bus, please see the other wine tour event listing.  

 

You're invited to join us for our wine bus tour through Adams County, presented by the Chamber's Women in Business Committee! 

 

The tour will take place on Sunday, September 13. The buses will depart from the Sears parking lot in Lebanon. One bus will leave at 9:30 a.m., and the second bus will leave at 10 a.m. The buses will return to Lebanon by approximately 7 p.m.

 

Wine Bus Tour Through Adams County Includes:

- Hershey Vineyards Wine Tasting, Cheese & Cracker Plate

- Hauser Estate Winery Wine Tasting

- Adams County Winery Wine Tasting, Tour, Appetizers, & Full Bottle of Wine for Each Attendee

- Stop at Kilwins Chocolates in Gettysburg

 

Each attendee will also get a fully catered meal at the Adams County Winery, and snack bags with goodies to enjoy throughout the tour!

 

Space is limited, so reserve your seat today! Each bus holds a maximum of 55 people. Cost is $65 for Chamber members and $75 for public admission. Chamber members may sign up one guest at the member price!

Keynote Speaker: Major General James R. Joseph, Adjutant General

Major General James R. Joseph was unanimously confirmed by the Senate as the 52nd adjutant general and commander of the Pennsylvania National Guard on May 11, 2015. In this cabinet-level position with the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, headquartered at Fort Indiantown Gap, General Joseph is responsible for command, control and supervision of National Guard units allocated to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, six state-owned veterans’ homes and programs for Pennsylvania’s one million veterans.

 

Other Highlights Include: - Presentation of the 2015 Gen. Frank Smoker "Beyond the Call Award” to Helen Sajer, Founder of the Wouded Warriors Project

2015 Foundation Scholarship Dinner - Featuring Pedro Rivera

Save the Date for the Chamber Foundation's 2015 Scholarship Dinner! 

 

This fourth annual Lebanon Valley Chamber Foundation Scholarship Dinner has been organized to provide funding for use by the Chamber Foundation in providing scholarships to Lebanon County high school students to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW), college and technical school. The Chamber Foundation plans to host this scholarship dinner each year in the future as a means of continuing to fund scholarships for students in our community.

 

This year's featured speaker will be Pedro Rivera, the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education. Rivera most recently served as the superintendent of The School District of Lancaster from 2008-2015 where he implemented a number of progressive initiatives. Rivera was also honored at the White House as a Champion of Change for his efforts to transform urban education.

Members of the Lebanon Valley Young Professionals and their guests are invited to a "Last Thursday" mixer event at Snitz Creek Brewery in Lebanon! There will be food, beverages, door prizes and networking fun!

During the fun event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with other area young professionals from throughout the Lebanon Valley and neighboring communities. Each attendee will also have the chance to introduce themselves and their business or organization to the other young professionals in attendance.

WGAL Town Meeting
In partnership with WGAL, The Lebanon Daily News, and WLBR, the Chamber is co-hosting a Town Meeting! WGAL's Joe Calhoun and President and General Manager John Humphries will be present to represent WGAL.

"We're asking Lebanon area residents to come to this meeting ready to express their opinions and provide our news department with story ideas," said Humphries.  

"We want to hear their thoughts on the pressing issues facing the Lebanon area and get feedback on the job WGAL is doing covering events in their community. Our Lebanon Town Meetings are always well-attended and we always come away with great ideas from our viewers," Humphries added.  

Local residents will be able to ask questions of the hosts about community concerns, interests, and suggestions for the media. Attendees will also be able to win door prizes! For more details, click on the link here.

The Chamber is partnering with HACC Central Pennsylvania's Community College to host this gala event at the Lebanon Campus located on Cumberland Street. There will be networking, entertainment, authentic Latino cuisine, a Mariachi band, and a DJ for dancing! You won't want to miss this must-attend, unique, first ever, one-of-a-kind event! 

 

The event will also feature guest speaker Fernando Trevino, Deputy Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant and Multicultural Affairs for the City of Philadelphia. The Hispanic gala is presented by the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Juntos De Lebanon, HACC Central Pennsylvania's Community College, and the City of Lebanon.
