WellSpan Good Samaritan holds Heart Month programs

holding a variety of events in February in celebration of Heart Month.
- = Heart healthy cooking demonstrations
will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 7 and 21, on the second-floor
mezzanine at the Lebanon Farmers Market, 35 S. 8th St., Lebanon. The
program is free, but registration is required, by calling 717-270-7764.
- = Healthy & Fit will be
held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 9, in the second-floor Youth Room at
the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA, 201 N. 7th St., Lebanon. Come dressed to move and learn what you can do to live a more active lifestyle. The free event includes fitness classes, safety tips for lifting and a Kids Heart Challenge. Two talks will be held: "Fueling Your Workout” and "Owning Your Health and Happiness." Registration is not required.
- = Love Your Heart Lecture Series will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 16, in Classrooms 1 and 2 at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Fourth and Walnut streets, Lebanon. Topics in the free educational event include “Knowing Your Risk Factors” by WellSpan Cardiology; “Ways to Maintain and Optimize Heart Health after a Hospitalization or Cardiac Event” panel discussion; and cooking demonstrations with a heart-healthy menu. Registration is required, by calling 800-840-5905.
