Cool Summer Networking Appetizer & Cocktail Contest

The Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Committee offered its annual Cool Summer Networking event on Monday, July 11, at Brasenhill Mansion located at 104 E. Walnut St. in Lebanon. The Cool Summer Networking Event was sponsored by PinnacleHealth as the presenting sponsor and The UPS Store located on West Crestview Drive in Lebanon as the supporting sponsor. Attendees at the Cool Summer Networking event enjoyed networking, food, beverages, and door prizes! All That & A Bag of Chips was the food sponsor providing light fare. Brasenhill Mansion was the vendor sponsor.
The Cool Summer Networking event again featured a Best Summer Cocktail Contest among local eating establishments. This year's winner was the Blue Bird Inn with their Cucumber Basil Breeze!
New this year was a Best Appetizer Contest. This year's winner was the Foundry Craft Grillery with their Watermelon Gazpacho!
Participants in the Best Summer Cocktail Contest included Inn 422, the Blue Bird Inn, Foundry Craft Grillery, Lebanon Country Club, the Sinkhole Saloon, and ADAMS Vintners. Participants in the Best Appetizer Contest included the Foundry Craft Grillery, Lebanon Country Club, ADAMS Vintners, the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-Hershey, and the Sinkhole Saloon.
Last year, the Foundry Craft Grillery took home the title of Best Summer Cocktail for their jalapeno lemonade.
Attendees voted for their favorite summer cocktail(s) and favorite appetizer(s) by placing their spare change in "tip jars" located at each of the vendors' tables. The tips were tallied toward the end of the event and the cocktail and appetizer with the most change won. The "tip" money will be put toward the Women in Business Committee's Non-Traditional Student Scholarship Fund. The committee was able to raise over $380 to put toward its scholarship fund!
The Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Committee's purpose is "to foster growth and development of women entrepreneurs and professionals through programs and events that provide membership value and ROI" to the Lebanon Valley Chamber. In addition to raising money for their scholarship fund, the committee annually sponsors and coordinates several high quality educational and networking events. The committee also presents the ATHENA Award which is annually given to a community member who has demonstrated excellence in his/her profession and who has helped advance the leadership potential and careers of women in the workplace.
