The Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Visit Lebanon Valley, the Community of Lebanon Association (CLA) and the City of Lebanon partnered to raise awareness in the community for Small Business Saturday, which took place on Saturday, Nov. 28. They encouraged everyone in the Lebanon Valley area to “shop small” at local businesses to show their support for the business owners and entrepreneurs who comprise the area’s economy. Efforts included shopping “passports,” shopping selfies, and a holiday season-long initiative called Biz Blitz Lebanon. Free “Shop Small” marketing materials for small businesses were also available at the Chamber’s office.

Shopping “passports” were available at the Chamber, at Visit Lebanon Valley and the Community of Lebanon Association. The passports were a tracker for customers’ purchases and the number of participating vendors they patronized. Customers who visited the participating shops and spent a minimum of $10 in each (on Small Business Saturday and throughout all of Biz Blitz Lebanon) could get their passports stamped and were entered into a drawing for prizes. To help encourage individuals to shop downtown on Small Business Saturday, the City of Lebanon also offered free parking all day long sponsored by WellSpan.
