Lebanon Girl Scout Troop #70338 has a special project they are preparing to work on for three local Habitat families. The project involves refurbishing three bookcases, including: cleaning, leveling, sanding and painting the shelves. In addition to fixing up the old bookcases, the troop will be collecting books to fill the shelves with selections tailored to each family moving into Habitat homes in Lebanon County.
“I am thrilled to begin this project with the troop,” stated Lynne Lowe, Girl Scout troop leader. “The girls were so excited to learn more about Habitat and the families who are currently logging sweat-equity hours on their homes as part of the homebuyer program. They really connected with the project… hearing about the school-aged children who will soon be moving into homes in our community.”
The
troop working on the Habitat project consists of 14 middle-school aged girls. Not
only will the troop help local Habitat families feel at home in their new
houses, the girls will also earn a wood-working badge.

Habitat for Humanity and the local homebuyers are nearing completion of the construction
on the homes, located on Lehman, Mifflin, and Worden Streets in Lebanon. To
