Hike and History Tour of the Bordner Cabin

=         Hike 1.6 miles one way through Swatara State Park across a footbridge over the Swatara Creek on a trail to the Bordner Cabin, a hand-hewn log cabin from oak logs and limestone found on the site. The logs are concave on the bottom to nestle snuggly with the previous log. The original horsehair chinking is still intact. There’s a floor to ceiling fireplace with masterfully cut stone, and a loft inside this 4-story cabin along Aycrigg’s Falls, Lebanon County’s only waterfall. Learn the story of Armar Bordner, the designer and builder who studied Frank Lloyd Right’s Falling Water, and also cantilevered the porch at the Bordner Cabin. Round trip is 3.2 miles.
