Canoeing and kayaking are among the fastest rowing outdoor activities in the US. It’s no wonder, experiencing the sights, smells, sounds, and feeling of nature all around you as you travel through time under your own power. It’s a unique way to leave the rat race behind. With more than 83,000 river miles, PA offers a delightful surprise around every bend of the creek. The Swatara Water Trail is an official Pennsylvania Water Trail, and part of the National Captain John Smith Water Trail.

Each sojourn is full of entertaining activities and presentations, which last year attracted over 14,000 spectators. Fishing and boating demonstrations, work-shops, and product demonstrations can help develop your techniques, serve as a refresher, or allow you to try the latest kayak or canoe. Enjoying the camaraderie inspired by outdoor exercise and companionship. Bald eagles, waterfowl, whitetail deer, and river otters have all been sighted during past river sojourns. Leave a small footprint—recycle. What will you see?
