The American Mental Wellness Association, founded to promote prevention, early intervention, scientific research and cures for mental health issues – including substance use disorders, will host its first conference: A Healthier Mind is a Happier Life, on November 19 and 20, 2018 in Hershey, PA. Join us to hear from leading national experts in the fields of brain health and mental wellness to learn how to address mental health issues BEFORE they become obstacles to healthy lives: in the workplace, the military, the classroom, sports, the community and the home. Together we can become a positive force improve the holistic health of individuals of all ages.

Christmas at Cornwall House Tour

The 23rd annual Christmas at Cornwall House Tour is scheduled for Saturday, December 1 and will include its share of mansions and private residences this year in Cornwall, Lebanon and Mount Gretna.  The annual event begins at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m.  It features Cornwall Iron Furnace, Buckingham Mansion and the Paymaster’s Office, both on the campus of Cornwall Manor Retirement Community across the street from the furnace, as well as five houses in the Lebanon area and five in Mount Gretna.

Tour tickets may be purchased for $15 in advance at the following locations:  Cornwall Iron Furnace, Cornwall Manor office, Bluebird Inn, all in the Cornwall area, the Mount Gretna Craft Brewery, Campbelltown, Visit Lebanon Valley office at the Lebanon Farmers Market building and Inn 422, both in Lebanon, the Franklin House in Schaefferstown, the Batdorf Restaurant in Annville and Hairmaster Styling Salon in Myerstown.  Tickets are priced at $20 on tour day and will be available only at the Cornwall Iron Furnace.

The historic Cornwall Iron Furnace operated from 1742 until 1883.  This furnace is the only cold blast charcoal burning furnace to survive intact in the Western Hemisphere.

WALK WITH A COP

Children ags 6-12 are invited to a Holiday WALK WITH A COP led by Lebanon Police Chief Todd Breiner.  The children will walk through the City and learn about winter safety and snow rules.  YMCA Healthy Living Coordinator will give some tips on being active in the cold weather.  

All children will receive a red beanie and a red scarf with the WALK WITH A COP logo, provided by the Lebanon Federal Credit Union and Rohland Funeral Home.  Walkers will get to enjoy pizza at Domino's Pizza and treats from Lebanon Farmers Market vendors.  Walkers should dress accordingly for outside weather.

Friends, Food & Fellowship Fundraiser

Half of Lebanon County residents experience anxiety or depressive symptoms.  Compeer Support Services offers support groups in a safe, judgement-free environment that encourage open discussion and support for individuals with any mental health condition.

Join us to support our Lebanon County residents.

100% of the proceeds raised from this event will go directly to Compeer of Lebanon County Support Services, a service open to all county residents.  Sponsorships, volunteers and donations are welcome!  Be a friend this Friendsgiving.
